The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 of 52 (To update)

The Book of Prophet Jeremiah

 Chapter 4

¹ If you return O Israel, says the LORD, if you return to me, if you remove your abomination from my presence and do not waver, ² and if you swear, "As the LORD lives!" in truth, in justice, and in uprightness, then nations shall be blessed by him, and by him they shall boast.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verses 1 to 2)

Oh God my Father, You are promising us a better life if we only remove sin from our lives and plead forgiveness and a promise of a changed life one that is according to Your way Amen,

³For thus says the LORD to the people of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns, ⁴Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, remove the foreskin of your hearts O people of Judah and inhabitants of  Jerusalem, or else my wrath will go forth like fire, and burn with no one to quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verses 3 to 4)

Oh God my Father we have an example of when fire is activated by the case of the Amazon Forest, that cannot be controlled. I pray that You activate a fire of faith in our society to overcome the wave of evil and corruption that we are living in Amen.

⁵ Declare in Judah, and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say; Blow the trumpet through the land; shout aloud and say, "Gather together, and let us go into the fortified cities!

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 5)

Let us all place our trust in Jesus and proclaim Him as our God and Father and face our greatest and smallest fears and challenges and in the name of God overcome them Amen.

⁶ Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, do not delay, for I am bringing evil from the north, and a great destruction.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 6)

Amen let us all raise our hands in praise to You my God and Father and give You praise thanksgiving and worship for You are my conqueror my refuge and consolation.

⁷ A lion has gone up from its thicket, a destroyer of nations has set out; he has gone out from his place to make your land a waste; your cities will be ruins without inhabitant.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 7)

Oh God my Father I have an ugly feeling that the devil has somehow set himself free and is on a path of global destruction, in an attempt to destroy all that You have created. Australia is already in flames, and a new deadly virus has appeared. Is this the beginning of the end my God and Father? Amen.

⁸ Because of this put on sackcloth, lament and wail;"The fierce anger of the LORD has not turned away from us".

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 8)

Oh brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, this is indeed a time of repentance, for it is a time that is referred to in the Apocalypse of St. John, a time of war, and a time of the spreading of disease that is uncontrollable. Therefore rejoice and turn back from your ways and my ways, for the mercy of God is without boundaries Amen.

⁹ On that day, says the LORD courage shall fail the king and the officials; the priests shall be appalled and the prophets astounded.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 9)

Oh God my Father only You know when this day will be. I wait in hope and faith and pray that I will be caught surprised by this chosen day but be found in good faith Amen.

¹⁰ Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD, how utterly you have deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, 'It shall be well with you, even while the sword is at the throat!"

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 10)

Oh God my Father many people have either misunderstood Your Word, or have willfully abused it by giving us a false interpretation of it. I pray that You continue to inflame our mind by means of the Holy Spirit so that the true message will be delivered to us Your people. Amen.

¹¹ At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem: A hot wind comes from me out of the bare heights in the desert toward my poor people, not to winnow or cleanse-¹² a wind too strong for that. Now it is I who speak in judgment against them.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verses 11 to 12)

Oh God my Father even we have raised Your anger and deserve to die. I realize that this virus is Your way of showing us that we are not in control of our lives and that it is fragile. I pray that we learn to find our security in You my God and Father Amen.

¹³ Look! He comes up like clouds his chariots like the whirlwind; his horses are swifter than eagles woe to us for we are ruined!

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 13)

Oh God my Father You gloriously ascended into the heavens and from there will You come again not as a frail baby but as an almighty God Amen.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash your heart clean of wickedness so that you may be saved. How long shall your evil schemes lodge within you?

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 14)

Oh God my Father, this is a time of sanitizers and hygiene against a deadly virus, however, this is also a time of repentance for what is worth trying to save the body and then one loses one's soul?

¹⁵ For a voice declares from Dan and proclaims disaster from Mount Ephraim.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 15)

Oh God my Father this is the time of repentance for Satan is attacking humanity. This evil spirit is keeping us away from the Holy Eucharist and from confession placing us in a very weak spiritual position thus leaving us in our state of sin. I pray that for this reason, this phase of our life will soon be over Amen.

¹⁶ Tell the nations, "Here they are!" Proclaim against Jerusalem. "Besiegers come from a distant land: they shout against the cities of Judah;

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 16)

Oh God my Father You can advocate in our favour and even against us if we do not live according to Your will Amen. I pray that I find You always on my side Amen.

¹⁷ They have closed in around her like watchers of a field, because she has rebelled against me, says the LORD.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 17)

Oh God my Father my enemies are Your enemies. When they see that I have abandoned You who is my security my fortress, they will hit me back with full force. They are waiting for my moment of weakness to harm me both physically and spiritually. All the time I pray for Your support love and care Amen.

¹⁸ Your ways and your doings have brought this upon you. This is your doom; how bitter it is! It has reached your very heart."

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 18)

Oh God my Father I pray that if this Corona Virus is man-made and not natural I pray for the forgiveness of those involved in its manufacture and dissemination for it is causing much pain in the world Amen. I pray for their forgiveness and not for their condemnation for they surely did not imagine the devastation it was to cause Amen.

¹⁹ My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh, the walls of my-heart! My heart is beating wildly; I cannot keep silent; for I hear the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 19)

Oh God my Father, what pain in my heart what stress, when I hear the sound of the helicopter and become aware that there are migrants on the open seas who need help and our ports are closed due to Covid 19 and issues with the European Union. I fear for the loss of lives of women, men and even children Amen. Oh God have mercy and that a solution to this human crisis may be found Amen.

²⁰ Disaster overtakes disaster, the whole land is laid waste, Suddenly my tents are destroyed, my curtains in a moment.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 20)

Oh God my Father for a time we might think that all is well with our lives and then You decide to test us. Instead of tests we consider such events as being tragedies or accidents, however by means of such events You are inviting us for growth on many levels of being especially the spiritual Amen.

²¹ How long must I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 21)

Oh God my Father, how long are we going to hear of the spread of this virus, how many more lives is it going to claim? I pray that You put an end to this malady so that we can come back to our normal lives. I pray that we learn a big lesson that in this world we are not secure, for such a small virus can easily change our world and our ways of life. I pray that we learn to invest in our spiritual lives more than on our physical lives Amen.

²¹"For my people are foolish, they do not know me; they are stupid children, they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil but do not know how to do good".

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 22)

Oh God my Father, we are indeed foolish and selfish. We take decisions that cater for our needs and disregard the basic needs of others. We would like to do good, but to do good is not natural in us, we have to strive against our own selves against our own sinful nature Amen.

²³ I looked on the earth, and lo, it was waste and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴ I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro.

(The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 4 verse 23)

Oh God my Father this is a prophecy that will surely be fulfilled, for we are gradually destroying our natural, social and even our physical and spiritual environment. I pray that You stop us from continuing this wave of destruction Amen.
